ARTIST'S STATEMENT

"The work I've done represents an attempt to comprehend the truth of my experience of the visual world. Color defines that world and becomes a method of depicting space by exploring how individual colors relate to one another...

For me, the objective of any painting is to express unity. The colors in a painting must work harmoniously. Any color that does not 'fit' destroys the unity, creating an ambiguous space. Within that harmony must be diversity. To show the true differences between the colors gives the needed dimensional force. Thus the entire problem is how to harmonize and still maintain the range of color represented by the motif."
